  • One troll insisted she was pregnant and slammed her ‘bus driver pants’

A Canadian TV host has been applauded after she issued a powerful response to trolls and shut down pregnancy rumors live on the air.

Leslie Horton covers daily traffic and community events on Global News, and her most recent on-air report has gone viral after she took a moment to address an unsolicited email she received, in which a viewer shamed her body and fashion choices.

After receiving an email congratulating her on her ‘pregnancy’ because she was wearing ‘bus driver pants,’ the TV host – who has been a host on the show for 26 years – took fired back.

The Canadian journalist, from Calgary, slammed viewers and demanded they ‘think about the emails [they] send’ as she shared that she had to wear ‘bus driver pants’ because she lost her uterus to cancer last year, and not because she was expecting.

Leslie’s response to the audience member who congratulated her on her pregnancy and noted that she should ‘expect emails like this’ due to her outfit choices has been circulating the web and prompted social media users to cheer on the TV host.

The clip was first reposted by TikTok user @Sarantium

Prior to beginning her traffic report, Leslie said: ‘I’m just going to respond to an email that I got saying, “Congratulations on your pregnancy, if you’re going to wear old bus driver pants you have to expect emails like this.”

‘So, thanks for that. No, I’m not pregnant, I actually lost my uterus to cancer last year and this is what women my age look like.

‘So, if it’s offensive to you that is unfortunate. Think about the emails you send.’

People flooded the comments section and praised Leslie for calling out the troll and her reminder to others to think before they speak.

One person said: ‘Leslie Horton is a treasure and a boss.’

Another user added: ‘I’m so sad for her. She didn’t deserve that. She handled it with grace.’

‘Well done… she looks fabulous,’ someone else commented.
