Howl-oween! Proud pet owners share their beloved animals’ frightfully adorable Halloween costumes – from a knife-wielding Dorkie to a hot dog dachshund

It seems to be getting bigger and better every year – but this Halloween, it wasn’t just trick or treaters who were pulling out all the stops with their costumes.

Proud pet owners across the country took the opportunity to dress their beloved animals up for the occasion.

Although it was supposed to be the spookiest night of the year, we’re sure these adorable costumes melted more hearts than sparked frights.

While several opted for the crowd-pleasing pumpkin or witch yesterday, others pushed the boat out with Chucky outfits – inspired by the 1988 horror comedy Child’s Play about a murderous doll that comes to life.

Here, FEMAIL reveals the very best pet costumes of 2023…

It is worth noting that if you are going to try and dress your pet in a costume, you should avoid forcing them into anything and never leave them alone wearing a costume.

A spokesperson for Cats Protection said: ‘The process will be stressful and cats can become extremely distressed when being forced into outfits. Being confined is very stressful for cats as clothing can get caught or snagged resulting in injury.’
