Man in his 40s is killed in horror A13 crash sparking road closures – as police arrest another man on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving

A man in his 40s has been killed in a horror crash on the A13 sparking road closures.

The multi-vehicle crash took place in the early hours of this morning and the police have arrested a man on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Police were called to the scene at just before 6am to the A13 Thames Gateway near the junction with Ferry Road, Rainham.

Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended the scene where a man was pronounced dead.

There are no reports of any other serious injuries and road closures remain in place around the scene.

One man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remains in custody.

Traffic site Inrix wrote: ‘A13 out of town closed due to accident investigation work at Ferry Lane Interchange. Following a serious multi-vehicle crash around 06:00, a tent has been erected in the carriageway.’
