Ritz-Carlton guest sues luxury hotel after male worker served her a bottle of water that was ‘defiled with SEMEN’

A married mother of three is suing Ritz-Carlton after a male worker at the luxury Half Moon Bay resort allegedly served her a bottle of water ‘defiled with semen’.

‘Jane Doe’ and her husband had booked a four night stay at the oceanside hotel, near San Francisco, where rooms start at $800 a night, for a ‘restful and indulgent’ birthday weekend in November 2022.

But they claim they left with the ‘horror and trauma of having been sexually assaulted and exploited’ after a male worker ‘ejaculated’ into their water.

The lawsuit claims one of the hotel employees ‘ejaculated his semen into a Ritz-Carlton labeled water bottle’ and delivered it to their room, where Jane drank it before she realized it ‘had been defiled by a criminal deviant’.

The couple, who have been married for 25 years and have three children, say they have stayed at the resort before and estimate they have spent over 600 nights at Marriott-branded hotels during their lifetime.

Jane is a homemaker and her husband works in marketing – they were visiting their daughter from their home in Washington state.

Their holiday started with ‘the kind of comfort and seduction one would expect from one of the most well-known and well-regarded luxury hotel brands in the world.’

But it took a turn when, on the evening of November 18, 2022, the couple returned to their room after dinner and realized they had run out of water.

Jane says she rang reception to ask for more and five minutes later a male employee knocked on the door and handed her five bottles of water – she placed them on her nightstand and went to sleep.

Later that night, she woke up thirsty and grabbed one of the bottles. She took a drink and ‘knew immediately that something was wrong’.

She woke her husband and the couple contacted the hotel management.

The lawsuit says: ‘As Jane Doe was addressing the issue with the hotel security and management representatives on duty, she began to realize that the chemical taste she had experienced was similar to semen.’

She ‘was mortified, terrified, embarrassed, and humiliated, but shared her suspicion with her husband, who then asked the hotel security and management representatives to call the police.’

Her husband asked the hotel to preserve the water bottle for testing, which they did, while a police officer arrived to take statements.

They left the hotel and as time went on, Jane claims she ‘became more certain that the taste of the liquid… was indeed semen.’

They claim that the hotel ‘sent the water bottle to a laboratory for analysis’ and then, around January 12 this year, a claims adjustor from Marriott called to say that tests had ‘revealed that the fluid in the water bottle had been defiled with semen.’

But since then, they say the hotel has refused to take responsibility or engage with the police instead just offering the couple ‘a few measly Marriott rewards points’.

The lawsuit alleges that ‘the Ritz-Carlton and Marriott International have refused to turn over the defiled water bottle’ meaning the DNA cannot be examined and the employee has not been caught.

It adds the ‘deviant whose sexual proclivity was forcing people to drink the semen of a man who was not their partner or spouse.. remains unidentified, uncaptured, and his ongoing sexual deviance unabated.’

Ritz-Carlton did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Javier Acosta told the Mercury News that the department conducted a ‘welfare check’ at the hotel regarding a woman who claimed she drank from a bottle with water that tasted like chlorine.

The woman refused medical attention and declined an offer to involve a poison control center, Acosta said.
